75,000 Steps For 75 Years!

John Weaver Celebrates 75 Years with 75,000 Steps

In 2021, we wrote an article about John Weaver–a longtime resident of Salisbury, NC and regular visitor to Jeter Chiropractic Clinic–and the whopping 70,000 steps he walked in celebration of his 70th birthday (you can read the original here). Five years later, and John hasn’t slowed a bit!

Still Taking Each Year, 1000 Steps At A Time

Last weekend, John Weaver of Salisbury, NC marked his 75th birthday in his signature style—by walking an impressive 75,000 steps, maintaining his tradition of 1,000 steps for every year of life. While this year’s walk didn’t involve raising funds for a specific charity, John celebrated with a send-off and party surrounded by his large family.

For John’s 70th birthday (which we covered previously and you can read here), he walked 70,000 steps and raised over $30,000 for a North Carolina family facing extraordinary medical challenges. That journey covered 31.6 miles and took 71,167 steps total. In previous years, he had walked 30 miles to raise over $10,000 for Christian Light Missions’ woodworking project in Honduras, and 63,000 steps the following year.

John credits Dr. Andrew Jeter’s chiropractic care, particularly work on his feet, as essential to his ability to complete these epic walks. He typically walks around 8,000 steps daily, but reserves these longer journeys for special occasions 1-2 times per year.

These annual birthday treks have become a cherished tradition—one that John shows no signs of stopping. As was written five years ago, here’s hoping we’ll still be celebrating his walks for years to come.
